spring clean/garage sale

  • 5th Apr, 2009 at 2:51 AM

i've got way tooo much crap in my life and stuff i no longer use, i must sell instead of holding onto them...
now that i'm moving out of london and moving back home, i'm going to have a mini garage sale...

i've already shipped off 2 LVs to a consignment shop so i don't have to deal with selling them myself
i'm selling some make up (mostly shadows that i no longer fancy or use)

and ive sold all my bedroom furniture

and when during my exam break, i'm going to donate clothes i no longer wear

i think im set!

part time seasonal

  • 14th Dec, 2008 at 3:00 AM

so i have a part time seasonal job at a store called michael hill at a mall near me.
i was hired as a cashier, but my real job is different from the original description i was told when i got hired.
let's see what ive done so far as a cashier.. lets break down my shift
5% processing the sale this is because 1. the store's slow, 2. the SAs forget that they have a cashier
5% running errands, such as: buying my manager a diet coke, grabbing a SA and the manager some coffee, going to the dollar store to buy my manager a big bag for her daughter's christmas present
3% making phone calls to customers to let them know about our big sale
2% calculating everyone's weekly hours worked... the store is an australian company, apparently they use 24 hour clock system in australia then i gotta subtract 30 mins if they work 5+ hours... have i mentioned last time i took math was in gr.11, and i actually failed the exam? (somehow i ended up with 77% in the course)
0.5% break (its probably smaller like ive mentioned above math and i don't get along)
10% getting nagged at for standing around...
so whatever percentage is left, divide that by 2. for the first half of that i clean. my cleaning rituals include: cleaning the glass cases SEVERAL times an hour, and cleaning silver jewellery. my hands hate me! they're so dry cuz of the stupid harsh silver cleaning solution. and the other half i stand around and hand out flyers. (this is when i get nagged, sometimes mall's quiet and no traffic for me to hand out flyers and i get nagged at for "just standing around")

FUCK! this is definately not what i signed up for! but, i keep on telling myself that i need $$$$$ to pay off my stupid credit card bill (i swear! i'm going to leave my cc at home for 2nd semester), my trip to trinidad & tobago, my hair extensions, booze and partying fees for tremblant, AND a hopeful reading week trip the vegas
this is the only reason why i am staying here to work instead of going home and bumming around...
vegas vegas VEGAS!

I'm going to hawaii

  • 29th Jun, 2008 at 7:32 PM

i'm going to hawaii!!!!
i'm super pumped because i don't really travel much... why? because my parents aren't into travelling. so if i want, i gotta pay for it out of my own pockets. (and trust me,i'm jobless meaning i have no money)
however, this summer i'm in korea (its been 14 yrs since i was last here).

anyways, i wake up one day and i find out we're all going to hawaii...
best part, my trip's been paid for by my aunt, as a present :) *she completely rocks!!!*
cept i won't really have any money to spend. hope mommy will wire a portion of my allowance to my bank account so i can buy souviners.

for almost 2 months, i regretted (is that even a word?) in coming to korea. i came here to make $$$ (people can make serious money in tutoring for few months) but my cousin was really busy (i picked the wrong cousin...) and never got around to finding students for me so for a month and a half its been slow... (aka i was making $40 a week). then it picked up, and now i'm tutoring 6 students (but in the end, i'll be lucky if i can make how much i spent on my flight). but now that i found out that i'm going to hawaii, i'm glad i came lol (how coneited i know... *sniff*)

we're going with a tourist company. so for the first few days will be boring sight seeings... it sucks cuz it'll be in korean and though i'm bilangual, i'll still get confused.
but we're staying few extra days (2days) so hopefully i'll get some quality tanning time... i feel like i've been loosing some colour... i think its cause pale is hot in korea so everyone's pale.... so perhaps my skin's trying to adjust to these pale korean women

this is what i REALLLLLY want to do when i'm in hawaii
* swim with dolphins
* learn how to hula dance
*snorkling
anything else will just be added bonus

anyways, i'm going to hawaiiiiiiiiiiii :).

laundry

  • 4th Apr, 2008 at 4:54 PM

ok so i get bitched at by a roommate because i want to put in 3 shirts & a sweater and wash it under a small load...
let's see, i do laundry ususally once a month: my socks, underwear, and towels, which comes out to be one medium-large load and mb every other month, i would do another load for my shirts...
i get bitched at cuz its wasteful... which i understsand but out of everyone in the house, i use the least hydro

- 2 girls shower twice a day
-1 girl does about 3 large- XL loads of laundry every week & a half because she only believes in wearing clothes only once... even if it was for 10 mins
- 2 girls need to have their fan on when they sleep
- 1 has the habbit of forgetting to turn on her lights when she leaves

let's see...
- i'm the only one who has those energy saving light bulbs in my room
- i have the least laundry to do because i believe in wearing clothes more than once unless if it smells or if i got a stain on it
- i don't ever use a fan
- oh yeah i don't believe in using the dryer unless if its my socks, underwear & towel load. i believe in hang drying clothes

and guess what? we equally share the bill... so who's getting jipped here? so i think i have the every fucking right to put one shirt in the load if i wish because i use the least hydro

so dear roommates, before you get mad & bitch at me for putting one small load, think of how much more you are wasting the hydro than myself

infusion canada 2008

  • 10th Feb, 2008 at 6:59 PM

last night was infusion fashion show.

halloween

  • 31st Oct, 2007 at 1:04 PM

i love halloween.
it's always a bitch to figure out what you want to be, but once you have a hot cotume, its all worth it!
on saturday i was alice from alice in wonderland
and on wed during the day i was faculty of music's prom queen. a lot of people say they can't believe how good i look. but the difference between me on a regular day vs me today is the fact that i've got a tiara and a dress on. imagine i wasn't so lazy and did my hair and makeup? lol
for tonight, i'll be alice again cuz i spent $100 on it, i'd better make it worth it!

one worry at a time

  • 7th Oct, 2007 at 12:38 AM

i feel like i'm back in high school again worrying about whether i'll get into a university of my choice: western (obviously i got in duh!)

i'm now at western worrying about whether i'll get into a teacher's college in ontario or if i will have to pay my way to an australian teacher's college...

then once i get into a teacher's college and get a degree, i'll be worrying about whether i'll get into the masters program or not....

after i get into masters program and get a degree, i'll be worrying about finding a job in toronto or even in ontario....

but one worry at a time...

REWIND!
back to worrying about getting into teacher's college

nyc pt 4

  • 14th Aug, 2007 at 11:29 PM

day 5

morning:
i slept in took a shower, watched some tv then headed down to a&f on 5th avenue to do the jeans exchange.
i got yelled at by a sales girl WTF?!?!?! so i complained about her to the store manager, and i plan on calling the customer service.

afternoon:
did the bus tour, nothing interesting at least i sat for 4 hrs.... the crappy part, my battery died within 5 mins of the tour... how crappy is that? i gotta figure out how to set my camera so it shows battery level. i did have a strange urge to charge the battery and i wish i did :(
oh wellz... at least i saw them though not many were captured on camera. perhaps next time...

night: went to go see WICKED!!!!! i absolutely love the musical!!!!!!!!!! that's all i gotta say. pretty easy day.

because my camera's battery died and because i had to make it on time to head to the musical, i didn't get a chance to hop off the bus to see statue of liberty and the UN.

tomorrow's plan, get up super early and go see the statue of liberty and the UN

items bought:
a pink hat for my mommy
a gray knitted short sleeve kind of baby doll top from a&f

my bag is PACKED!!! lol thats how much clothes i bought. and $1000 US was spent so fast :(.... i don't want to leave tomorrow but i'm also out of money booo!!!!

nyc 3.5 my rant

  • 13th Aug, 2007 at 11:06 PM

new york transit system is very smelly. its hot and humid outside, u go inside to take the subway its 10x worse. not only that it stinks!!!!! all of new york STINKS! absolutely hate it!!!
its so funny because when you watch sex and the city, the girls make manhattan look so fabulous living their fabulous lives, however the rant is expensive, their transit system is old and falling apart and the whole city smells like urine! YUK!

this is when i miss home... at least toronto and london does not smell like urine 24/7!!!! plus i really appreciate the ttc and the london transit.

nyc pt 3

  • 13th Aug, 2007 at 11:04 PM

day 4:

morning: woke up went to breakfast w mac. went to a place called alice's tea cup. its an alice in wonderland themed tea shop. we had crepes and tea. most expensive breakfast ever!!!!15$ :S lol i had the symphony tea, indian black tea with hint of chocolate and strawberry. though i didnt taste the chocolate part. i bought 2 oz costed me $9 something yummmm can't wait to drink them.
*needing a cute tea pot and cup*

afternoon: power walked 30 blocks to catch the bus to the mall. missed the 12.15 bus so had to wait for the 2.45 bus. so i had lunch and rested my poor ankles. they're in severe pain...
on my way to the mall, i met this french tourist who sat next to me. she spoke very little english i mean very little. i spoke very little french. i tried my best to talk to her in french. i felt bad for her trying to figure out what i was telling her as i spoke horrible french and didn't even conjugated ANY of the verbes.

night: had dinner at whole foods and came home. i'm exhausted. having an early night. or maybe not. the hills premiere is tonight. imissed it but it repeats at 12am muhaha!

but i plan on sleeping in because mac has to work from 7am-2pm
but its ok. i can sleep in and do the bus tour of downtown manhattan.

nyc pt 2.5... denim rant

  • 13th Aug, 2007 at 1:13 AM

i forgot to mention. since i've already bought 2 pairs of jeans and plan on buying just a few more. maybe a sevens, and another a&f, that i have not seen lower end brands.

i've also noticed that all the new sevens and citizens have lighter line in the middle of the pant legs, creating the crease illusion from faraway and i absolutely hate it! its funny because those are the only two jeans i can actually fit into nicely and the lighter line is making me not want them ugggh!

u know like mavis and whatnot. every single shop i've been into sells super expensive stuff. good thing i saved up money and actually started to spulurged on some expensive jeans....
its about time too!!!! lol i could have gotten them earlier, but i've been fluxuating like mad!!! but i feel like if i loose any more weight, it wouldn't be as drastic as before, and it'd probably be from my love handles a nd stomach.
so hopefully i'd stay pretty much same size because i'm buying some expensive jeans :P

nyc pt 2

  • 13th Aug, 2007 at 12:43 AM

day 3.
morning:
had breakfast by myself at georgia's because mac had to work... boo!
i got a croissant and earl grey tea yummmie!
then i headed the theatre district to try to get hairspray tickets but the show's sold out :( put my name in the lottery, didnt win boo!!!!

Afternoon:
so i walked up and down on time square. they have m&m's shop it was tonz of fun!!!! bought some chocolates for my housemates :P
then after i headed down to 5th ave once again. and went to sak's 5th avenue and tried on numerous jeans and got sick of trying so i waited outside for mac to get there. bought a pair of jeans
we headed to tiffany & co!!!! my dream came true woot wooot!!! though sadly, the famous massive yellow diamond is on tour in japan so i didn't get to see it booo!!!! left with a small blue box with the white ribbons. but shh!!! its a surprise :P on our way home, we stopped by burberry bceause i really wanted a burberry rainboots. the tall ones are $175 and the medium ones are $150. tall didn't fit over my calves god i hate them! and medium looked cute but uber heavy. i didn't buy it. i need to think it over :P btw new york has a lot of rainboots. every store i've walked into they sell rainboots. come on ppl!!!! its not england. it doesn't rain THAT often :P

night:
on our way back, we stoped at this place called so fresh, so healthy, so delicious and grabed a quick bite because we were both starving. i had the whole wheat alfredo with italian meat balls with tropicana oj yummmm!!!
then once we got home, we had drinks at mac's next door neighbour agnesse *i hope thats how u spell her name*. she has invited this girl and her friend that live in the building. they invited us to go see this free concert in brooklyn. the band was called senior junior or vice versa. they were pretty good actually. i enjoyed it thought it was crowded and hot so mac and i listened from outside :P.the girls were really nice. i'm glad we met them because once i leave, mac has someone to hang out with. we're planning on going for the horse carriage ride tomorrow night.

i'm super exhausted. waking up early, and walking from 9am-8pm is exhausting! i'm going to try to take it easier tomorrow.

items bought:
ny tshirt for daddy
roxy ny shirt pour moi
citizens of humanity dark skinny jeans *i've been finding so many skinny jeans that FIT!*
open heart necklace from tiffany's
a small statue of liberty to accompany my very tiny eiffel tower key chain
m&m's to match each of my housemates' rooms. i didn't buy very many. probably 10-15 per each bag.

p.s for those reading, i do apologize for horrible grammar and sentence structures. its usually close to 1am when i post these and i am exhausted and really don't want to proof read. i just write what's in my head as s hortest as i can. these ny journals are more for myself so when i look back at the pics, i know what i did and where the pic were taken :P

new york part 1

  • 11th Aug, 2007 at 10:59 PM

the flight:
i got to the airport a little over 2 hours before my flight. 3.55pm flight.
go through check in
go through security

*1.5 hrs later*

i'm sitting, waiting in the lounge waiting for the flight.
uh oh! i realize i forgot to put a bag of my lipglosses from the security back into my backpack.
i run and they tell me they are probably now in the garbage.... sad
rip my bag of lipglosses, lipsticks, mascara, and my new lash curler

my flight got delayed until 4.15. its ok, not bad.
i get inside the plane.

description of the plane:
REALLY small.... smaller than the width of a coach bus.
stinky.... smells like urine
COLD.... blasting of the ac to the MAXXXXXXX

the plane is not leaving until 5.15. why the fuck are we in there????
so we start moving to a parking runway.
we wait.

i think we took off close to 7pm. delays delays.
but the flight was quick!!!! i was told 2 hours but a lot quicker than that. never really paid attention

i get off the plane all exhausted. took a cab to mac's place...

I"M IN NEW YORK!!!!

after eating pizza, we go for a walk. its cold out....

we stop by starbucks after a LONG walk....
met the nicest starbucks worker ever. mr nate
apparently starbucks in the states don't have the london fog. but nate made me one. but with a twist. its frozen. he really made my night. and for a massive cup *i'm still not very familiar with the sizings there* he charged me $2.60. really awesome service! if he doesn't like a drink he made, not good to his standard he'll reamake it.

day 2:
mac, mrs mills, and myself went went for a breakfast at this really awesomely delicious place. breakfast was yummilicious.

after breakfast, mac and i went around until she had to go to work *booo!!!*
so until dinner, i walked around and shopped. i tried on the most georgeous betsey johnson dress. and of course, the boobal area was too tight that i couldn't breathe. it was size 8 for hecksake!!!! sadly, they didn't have a size 10 i could try because if it fit me without having to get it retailored i would have bought it on spot though it was $470. its ok it was hot so totally worth it!!!!
man who'da thought shopping would be that exhausting?????????? and i just started....

items bought:
steve maddens gold peep toe flats
orange zip up penguin hoodie
brown penguin golf shirt
white victoria's secret pink sweat pants
some underwears from vs
green vs tshirt. just because when u buy a shirt u get any sweat pants for $25. its cute though so :P
some pics from the vendor for london
pair of skinny jeans that fit over my muscular calves from a&f who'da thought that? claramae would be proud...

Dinner:
went to this really pretty italian restaurant in east manhattan *i think* the food was yum but felt soooo stuffed

got home, showered, eating massive cookies from mac's work and just relaxing my pooor exhausted feet.
until tomorrow!!!

Lost Dog

  • 4th Aug, 2007 at 9:12 PM

on my way home from school, i saw a lost dog sign.
it made me really sad.
because a pet is like a family member. if u lose a human, the police is out looking for it. and in most cases u do find ur human family member. but an animal? if u loose them, most likely that's it. u won't see them. i also heard of dognappings at parks. a lot of dog owners would unleash their dog so it can play with other dogs. and these dognappers would run grab the dog and bolt out of the park to the getaway car.
my mom unleashes my puppy and it upsets me because he can other get scared and run away and get hit by a car (an example) or one of these dognappers would take my puppy... i mean yorkies are expensive so to a dognapper, mickey's a sitting wad of money.
but i hope this never happens to my puppy *knocks on wood* because loosing him would be really hard on myself and my family and its something that i hope i never have to go through. i also wish my dog can live until the day i die. but i also know that is not going to happen
:(.
anyways, to the family who lost their dog in my neighbour, i hope they find their dog...

what a waste

  • 30th Jul, 2007 at 1:18 PM

cleaning my room, i found my weed kit from high school!!! I open it up excitidly because i thought i lost it and i had my favourite lighter. it's yellow and has a nosel so it's perfect for pipes without burning my fingers. and i found weed!!! i'd say maybe 1.5 grams?? and it smells like wet dog yuk!!! it sucks :*( sucks cuz that coulda made a nice fat joint and now its gotta go into garbage *sniff sniff* i thought i should share my random findings.

golf vs daughter

  • 30th Jul, 2007 at 11:24 AM

i've been dealing with wrist injuries for a while. and it gets better then gets worse. its pretty annoying. so i have been seeing a physiotherapist who specializes only in musicians . and she's located in newmarket and only sees patients on tues/thurs. the original plan was to book an appointment with her in august right before i head out to new york, but she's on vacation from then until august 17th. bad timing on my end. so i opted out for this coming thusrday. then i told my mom that she HAS to cancel her golfing appointment and she started to yell at me about how its going to be hard because she has her 4some and this was planned awhile ago. no matter how much u love golf, when it comes to your family's health i think u need to drop everything to cater to them. i mean if barbara (my physiotherapist) is somewhere in toronto, though i may have to take the bus (and we all know how much I HATE the bus), i'll go by myself but this is in newmarket. an area that i don't know very well and don't plan on going by myself because i dont want to get lost. so i pretty much threatened her. i told her if she doesn't cancel i'm going to call daddy and let him know that she refuses to drive me to a specialist because she needs to go golfing. so she called and canceled her golf appointment...

wheel of life

  • 28th Jul, 2007 at 4:04 PM

i'm a firm believer that if something good happens to you, something bad will follow... ie wheel of life. something i learnt in gr.11 world religion class (hahahaha i actually learnt something from lados) anyways let me tell you about what happened this week

the good(beginning of the week)
* i won a pair of tickets to the edge 102's next big thing concert series. its a private show at a small club, and only those who win can go. well not only that, about a few weeks ago (less than a month) i won a pair of tickets to sum 41's next big thing concert so lucky me!!! because of this show, i discovered 3 really awesome indie bands: saint alvia cartel, the artist life, and the creepshow

* i found a burton 2007 feelgood in 152 (my size) for $419.99+tax. it retails for $800+tax (just the board itself) well its off season and the stores are getting ready for the 2008 seasons. and whenever there's a sale, i never find anything in my size. and there it was!!! so i called and placed an order and went to go pick it up the next day. wait, it gets better. i go pick it up, and i end up getting the limited edition board!!! with the green, yellow and blue swirls... the limited editions were only made in 148 and 152cm. 20% of all their productions for the feelgood. it came in 3 varieties. black with rainbow swirls, black with blue swirls, and white with green swirls. and this 20% limited edition wasn't per country. it was for the whole world!!! so i feel very lucky to own a limited edition board. u know how i am with the limited editions!!!

so those are my goods...
on my way home from the saint alvia cartel, i saw a wild bunny. let me tell u where i live. i live in TORONTO!!! a big cities, wildlife is very rare here. but i spotted a wild bunny. my 2nd time in the area! making it my 3rd wild bunny sighting in my life. meher told me that in her culture spotting a wild bunny means good luck. because wild bunnies bring u luck. so i was like hey yay! my luck can continue throughout the week!!!

the bad (near the end of the week)
* that night, i find out my LV's ripped
*the next day, i ripped my nail from trying to put in my keys back into the keyring. my nails are really strong so i don't know how it managed to rip. it hurt and really short and its kinda sore still...
*still the next day, i'm at my dad's restaurant and my stupid big LV speedy 25 knocks over a chair and cuts a skin off my baby toe (this is why i should not be allowed to carry big bags)
*and somewhere along the way, i managed to have an allergic reaction to a very expensive lipgloss!!!! my mom uses darphin everything so i was in her room doing makeup and used her gloss and poof! i have ugly red bumps around my lips. not only does my lips look horrible swollen, its ITCHY as hell :(

well that was my week so far... as the wheel of life states, after a stream of bad lucks, a stream of good luck follows. so i am patiently waiting for the good
